The Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers (TIIIMSH) was founded in 1934 and is Uzbekistan's leading educational institution in the field of irrigation and land reclamation. The Institute has played a key role in training specialists for agriculture and water management, which is especially important in the arid climate of the region. After Uzbekistan gained independence in 1991, TIIMSH actively developed international cooperation, updated training programs and modernized infrastructure. Today, the Institute employs 48 doctors of sciences and 181 candidates of sciences, and provides training in 25 bachelor's and 23 master's degrees.
