The Karakalpak Medical Institute was established by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 1, 1991, with the aim of training highly qualified medical personnel, improving their qualifications, and strengthening the health of the population of the Aral Sea region. By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 14, 2020 No. 4598 "On the Establishment of the Karakalpak Medical Institute" (https://lex.uz/docs/4735411) the TashPMI was transformed into the Karakalpak Medical Institute (KMI). Over 33 years, the institute has trained more than 4,000 graduates and more than 800 clinical interns working in more than 10 countries around the world. Our students became laureates of the Presidential Scholarship of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Zulfiya State Prize, scholarships of the Medical Association of Uzbekistan, the Gold Medal of the International Red Cross Society, as well as winners of international tournaments and conferences.
